Advocacy & Safety - Got "left-hooked" this morning........

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Riding along a section of road in between two bike paths. A hear a guys voice behind me say "do you want to stop here for coffee?" Then he passes me and signals and pulls over. Unfortunately his buddy is not so considerate. Their coffee shop is closer now - "buddy-boy" is in full racing regalia on his $3000?? carbon bike. No-doubt perceives me as an old tortoise, so he zips past. Then he just swerves across my path to make his @#$% approach into the coffee shop. I throw out my picks and miss him by a foot or so. I study him briefly and he appears to be a novice. I ask "What're you doing"? He mumbles, head down, and makes a quick exit between parked cars into coffee shop. Parades into coffee shop looking like he just completed TDF!

The best way to avoid getting hooked is to avoid riding in the gutter.

Threw out your picks?
Threw out your picks?
I confirm that all available picks were thrown out (pick = anchor = brake) ;-)
Australian slang "Yeah mate, I hit the picks and just missed that shiela".
