I went to the local DJ spot setup by the city council yesterday. I am starting to really get into DJing aswell as my DH and freeridng. Well I have been working my way up to the expert track (proper DJ's with vert takeoff's and steep landings). I find it a good feat for me as I am doing all these on my DH bike. Well while I was having a break, and after smashing my rear wheel pretty hard :D I saw a guy coming in on a Kona Stinky Dee-Lux.
This Sunday a local freeride group, led by Grant Allen are holding a DJ demo. This guy on his stinky was practicing for it. Suddenly this guy starts to pedal into a jump way too fast and I'm thinking WTF then suddenly he attempts a backflip  , ON A STINKY. Mind you I have necer seen a backflip in real life except for once on aBMX. This guy landed a bit crtooked and hit his shoulder pretty hard, but he got up and 5mins later tried again, succesfully. This guy landed about 5 and only had that one crash. When we talked to him he said it was his first attempt at doing backflips to a proper landing, apparently he had been practicing into hay bales.
So this Sunday I am definately going to this DJ demo and bringing my cam for pics. This just goes to show you how good some riders are and they don't even have any minor sponsorships.
