I found and bought a 20 year old bike at the Genesis Women's Shelter Thrift Store in Dallas, TX.
I think I need to post on the "What's it Worth" area.
1992 Marin Sausalito Hybrid(sic) which seems to be complete and mechanically sound.
What suggestions for the bike to help a 67 year old guy who needs the exercise to help lose 20-25 pounds.
Mostly plan on riding on bike trails and urban neighborhood back streets, not high traffic streets nor wilderness.
Most suggestions considered.
Thanks,
ColinDallas

Welcome to Bike Forums. I'll be 68 next month.
If the bike fits (the most important feature on any bike) just get out and ride and the pounds will come off. Start easy and increase the mileage each week.

Stop by the 50+ forum (http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php/220-Fifty-Plus-(50-)) and say hello to the other "old timers".

Hey Colin,

Welcome to Bike Forums from a 70 y/o rider.

New tires tubes, lube the chain and see how far it will go.
