Yes. 35+.
I would need a get out of bike slaving free card and an airline ticket.

Yes. 35+.
35+? That has to be a really fast category... Kick some juvenile delinquent ass, Vance.
VanceMac tried using logic to get me to race on the track. I'm beyond that.

I'm sure. Especially with Ex there. They are running 3/4, 4/5, and Masters... and I know of ringers planning on showing up in each category. So I have no place to hide!

Well, I won't be helping you do any bridging this time. A little off my game. Wolkoff and (especially) Weitze seem to be in very good form, so if they show up, you guys can have a party. I think Kevin Phillips might show... so fireworks for sure.

I'm carrying around a bucket of fatigue right now. We'll see how it goes.

Out. Have a team meeting to attend and it also occurred to me that I might want to take my own training advice.

Dang it... now my race report can't say "lost to a national champion". Which, so far, is the highlight of my racing career!

I see where you are coming from. A years ago I did the Masters National RR and Crit. There were many guys with stars and bars and a few with WC stripes. Lost to them all! I did do a crit last spring where one of the competitors had WC stripes and thought "oh my!" We lapped the guy about 10 laps in.
I saw the omnium results for the masters men on Saturday. Cari Higgins (http://www.teamtwenty12.com/bio_higgins.htm) beat everyone and she was talking a little trash on her FB page.

So, indeed I AM able to write that I lost to a National Champion (and Olympian)! Spin control. The field was stacked. In addition to Higgins: Ironfly duo Phillips and Davy (National, State champs respectively, both in their 30's); two of my teammates (both State champ sprinters); and at least one other state champ.
My top end power still felt a little bit off, so I wasn't super pleased with overall performance... but it was better than the zero omnium points might suggest.
20 lap scratch had many little bursts, with nothing sticking. A few dropped off the pace, but I couldn't match the sprinters at the end. Finished 6th, out of the money (and 2nd for a prime, out of the money).
Miss-n-out I got ripped. About 4th lap, I was feeling pretty good, and came around to pip a couple at the line. Or so I (and others) thought. They called my number, c'est la vie.
40 lap points, my teammate (200lb pure sprinter) gets a little gap on very first lap. He decides to run with it and tries to lap the field. I was in 2nd position when this happens, and the guy in front of me is prime candidate to pull him back. I was shocked when he almost immediately pulled up, leaving me, his teammate, in first position. I managed to block a bit before they came around, but no one ever really chased. He not only got the lap but hung on with the pack until the end. Very impressive. I managed to finish one place off the points in 3 of the 4 sprints.
Today's theme: out of the money! But super fun, as always.

The first Friday Night Racing of the year this week.
A: Scratch 20/Miss-n-ou/Points 40
B: Scratch 15/Snowball/Points 32
C: Scratch 15/Points 32/Tempo
I think they are running a Madison, as well.

Here (http://ridethetrack.com/pdf/race_descripts.pdf) are the definitions of most of the races.

They let a stray cat out on the track and the first guy to run it over wins. Second guy gets second, Etc. It's like a "win and out". Then there's the "Fluffy" where you chase the cat and try to pick it up.

Good point. Naming a cat Fluffy is damaging enough.
Here is a cat that comes to my house a couple of times per week. Even though I like her, she refuses to pose with medals around her neck. She had the nerve to follow me into my house the other day. I was carrying in bike stuff (what else is there?) and I heard a loud meow. I had to pick her up and carry her out. I could contribute her to the game.

Sure looks like "Fluffy" to me.
Growing up, our cat was called "Plaguey"; short for Bubonic Plague... Black Death... He would've torn the tires off the bikes. :)

Out. Cut my knuckle up on my first finger last night cleaning a cleaver. Wouldn't stop bleeding so I made a 2:30 AM ER visit. Wearing a big bandage.

Why do you hate track?!? Just kidding... hope it heals up quickly! By the way, saw photos of you doing team sprint with Jay... you were on a Fuji Elite. Did it break, or was there something you didn't like about it?
Likely story... I bet it was more like this....

Trying to pick up Fluffy off the track (she is quick) would be like catching the Golden Snitch in a game of Quidditch.

Couldn't get a good fit in the aero position...proprietary seat clamp had too much setback. Having similar issues with the Dolan only in the other direction in the "mass start" set up.
