Mountain Biking - Cannondale Trail SL 2013 opinions please

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi there all, I asked a week ago on the sticky thread in this forum about a few bike I am interested in. Long and short of it is ones not available on our cycle to work scheme and the other is last years model and the only frame size left is to small.
As I am a keen road cyclist but lack the knowledge in MBT to pick out a truly sweet ride. So your opinions really will help me.

Thanks as ever dave
It is a good bike capable of real singletrack trail use. The shadow rear derailleur is nice, and the rest of the gear is solid.

Thank you Colin, I have placed an order on the said bike :)
You'll enjoy it, and if you feel so inclined you'll have a great platform to upgrade over the years, or to convince you to move to a full-suspension bike.
I find myself really only using my road bike for group rides and exercise. For fun, MTB tops it very easily! :thumb:

I was in the mind that this can be my "play thing" while the weather and dark nights are with us. I've owned a full suspension bike before. A clude butler arc, was very low entry by today's standards. Rocxshox front and a cane creek ad5 rear.
Dont think it will pull me away from my road bike once the sun is back with us ;)
cheers again Dave

As the cycle to work scheme has a max value of £1000, how do you intend to get this bike, as it is out of the price range for this scheme?

Once I've logged in to the site I am entitled to a 10% discount brining it in to price range allowed for the cycle to work scheme.
