The 105 RH lever I'm working on returns beyond the "neutral" position. It rests about 15 degrees further outboard than vertical, meaning it the main lever needs to be coaxed into vertical before it can be shifter up. Anyone know what causes it to rest beyond the resting position? Spring rate is good, indexing is good, just relaxes too far outboard. It has not had any impact. Thanks fellas

Remove the cable from the STI shifters. Does it stll stop off-center. Use the tube that comes with the WD-40 and squirt the insides of the shift mechanism to dilute the old grease, followed by a few blasts of compressed air to clear the gunk from the mechanism. Install the gear cables, making sure that the cable head is properly seated inside the groove.

I have a pair of 5500 brifters on one bike and, as far as I can tell the lever's outboard travel is limited by a firm mechanical stop where the lever hits the housing. Did you have a collision or something that might have caused internal breakage?
