When I do transport my bike I use to use my truck to transport them, I just got a reese style rack for four bikes, on the wife's Van, so we would only need one vehilce to transport both the riders and the bikes. Three of them are no problem, the fourth, while it belongs to my 18 year old son, is a Mongoose XR-500. Tried test fitting the bikes on it today. But could not find a way of mounting the Mongoose to the rack. because of the unusual shape. Anyone out there have a way of mounting it ?

Well, seeing that this topic drew no replies, and I have found the remedy on my own, I will post it for future reference, I found that Saris products makes a bar that goes between the seat post and the handlebar stem, called a bike bar. This works on all odd shaped bikes like the Mongoose and the new trek that is also shaped the same way. This bar makes it possible to hang the bike on the Reese type Bike Rack.

Hey Phoenyix,
Sorry I'm missed this post. I was going to suggest one of those bars, but I guess you figured it out.
Sorry for not seeing it. Hope we can help out on anything else!
