Bicycle Mechanics - Bianchi Infinito Bottom Bracket

In my Bianchi Infinito there’s missing a bolt in a cable guiding plate under the bottom bracket (see picture). I think I need a special bolt.

Can anybody who has an Infinito check his BB and see if there a bolt in it and what kind of bolt it is?
I tried a M3 (SST) but it's too large.
Smaller sizes are more difficult to obtain so I like te be sure what size I need.

I will look at my Infinito tonight and let you know.

In the meantime do not try to force a bolt there. That might be a drain hole and not need/take a bolt.

EDIT:I think that I may have been looking at the wrong hole. Still...I will check tonight.

Pull the crank and BB , and see what is Inside?

You can always put in a backup washer and use a Poprivet,

That will not shake loose, and fall out on the road.

On a more serious note, I looked at the bottom bracket area of my Infinito. There is definitely a screw missing in the OP's bike. Pressure from the cables, however, will keep the rubber cable guide in place.

To the OP, I suggest that you take it back to the store you bought it and have them put a screw there. They should have one that fits.

If you like I can take mine out and measure size/take picture of the screw.

The screw is a self-tapping screw. (It is a screw and not a bolt). The length is 10mm.

YW..I just realized, I need to clean my Bianchi's BB. :)

The plastic piece wont get lose or anything because is pressed into the down tube hole and pressed by the cables, even if it gets loose the piece will get caught with the cables anyways. The screw is there just in case situations.
