BMX - Suggestions for £170 up to £220 (Street/Park or Freestyle)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi,
Ive not ridden for a few years and im going to get back into it asap. Im looking to get a complete bike - not bothered about building a customer one this year.
What are some good bikes for £170ish and what are some good for £220ish
Ive seen some nice looking ones by blank, FIT, Stolen, etc
Any suggestions from people would be great as theres just too many to choose from :)
As I've suggested before in two other threads, that have been backed up by at least two other people: Haro . Haro makes excellent bikes for what you're talking about, $220ish. My bike was $230, and it's awesome, it's been really nice for me and my needs. If you want a good starter bike, (like you're looking for) I highly suggest taking a look at Haro's bikes. They're excellent bikes for getting started, at nice affordable prices, and they're very well built so your money is well worth it! Then if you decide you're going to stick with it, you can either build a new custom bike to better fit your needs, or you can upgrade your starter bike with better parts. (where needed that is) So I hope that my suggestion will help you get an idea, and if you're interested here is Haros website: http://harobikes.com/2005/bmx/
i like the look of the blank and eastern bikes - are either of them as recommended as haro for the price?
Also - is a $230 bike the same as a £230? i know we do get ripped off over here in the uk... In theory $230 should be ab out £140 :)

Oh I'm such an idiot! I didn't notice the different currencey! I'm so so sorry, I don't know how much it would be in UK, and I don't know anything about blank or eastern bikes. I'm so sorry, I didn't notice you didn't live in america! Please forgive my stupidity. Maybe someone else knows the anwser to your questions, I'm sorry I don't....
To try and make up for my BIG mistake, I looked at some of the bikes eastern has to offer. Their Neutron series sounds like it would do good for you, at around the price you wanted. I'd recomend the Traildigger (not 16") from their Neutron series, it looks like a good begginer bike. Or if you wanted to spend a little bit more you could take a look at easterns Proton series. Their Shovlehead bike (from their Proton series) is their entry level bike, kind of like Haro's entry level bikes. Their Proton series is a little higher quality than some of Haros entry level bikes, but only by a little bit. But either way I think that Easterns bikes look like good ones for what you want, but I don't know as much about Easterns bikes and reputation as I do Haro's so it's up to you. Hopefully someone that knows more than me can help you, but I hope I gave you an idea. And again please forgive me for not noticing you are from the UK.
Hey simonw, I just found a link to a site where you can order Haro bikes, and Blank bikes in your currency! Here is the link to the site, I've already gone to the Haro bikes page so you can look at them right away: http://www.extremesports.ltd.uk/bmx/haro-bmx-bikes.htm
PS: I have a Haro F3, and they have it to purchase there on that site I gave you the link for. It's about the price you're looking for, and since I ride a F3 Haro I can personally tell you that they are a good entry level bike. Just in case you're interested in Haro.
Hey thanks for all the suggestions flyboy- Im having a look at that link to the shop now :)
Nice one!
