Thats pretty much what I am going to see. Not the stones though. I will be wondering if I will get my moneys worth while I am sitting in the stands of the sports arena, waiting for the show to begin..

Thankfully, my favorite musical act plays for free in our local city park once each summer as they are from here. Otherwise, their concerts are too expensive and I would never be able to see them. :)

If it's the fellow from the same era as the Stones, everything I've heard you get your money's worth.

Depends on the locale. I would not pay big money to sit in the back of some huge stadium, but I would pay to see SRV (resurrected?) in a smaller intimate setting.

Jimmy Buffet is another good show. I think it would be fun to see him from someplace where you could raft up in sail boats and rock out.

I'd love to see Pink Floyd with Waters and Gilmour together and I consider paying $100+ per ticket for that. But that isn't going to happen so I don't have to worry about it.

Funny you say that... last paid concert I went to... worse show ever. Had I know how lame it was going to be I would have told my friend "No I ain't paying to see that jerk and his lousy band".

Sorry the music is not good. The "fans" were just horrible - all drunk or stoned out of their mind, rude and obnoxious. I could not wait to leave! The only good thing is that everyone was talking so loud I could not hear the music.

Pretty much to me most live concerts are a waste of time and money... rude obnoxious fans keep you from hearing the music... now I will pay decent money for a symphony or musical since crowds there tend to be civilized and quiet.

Now if I could have a private concert with the original Beatles I would pay several thousand dollars for that!

I would pay big money to have seen any of the following
Jimmy Hendrix, The Doors, Led Zepplin (in their day), Deep Purple, GnR, etc.....

Been to quite a few Buffett shows. Usually tons of fun. Parrotheads are a different breed. We have as much fun in the parking lot as in the concert. One time, we took balloons, the kind you make ballon art out of and spent most of the night making silly hats and swords and stuff for anyone who wanted one.

Sorry to hear your experience was not good.

While I always liked Jimmy, I saw him at my bosses house in Barbados a few years back. The concert for 200 people was fun, Buffet was a dud.

Better private concerts were Bryan Adams, Van Halen and Meatloaf.

A tad over $50 each to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in Phoenix on 1 November. I am hoping it is one of the highlights of our trip.

I am just reading one of his books, about Pirates and flying boats. I am enjoying it. But while I am familiar with the name, I couldn't tell you the words or tune to any of his songs.

If it is McCartney, then after the Olympics show, I would give it a miss. Sometimes, these old guys just need to fade into the background and be happy with that. But that's just my opinion, and I hope you do enjoy the show.

$1,000,000 ... however I'd get way more bang for my buck than most. The show would have to start out with resurrecting Freddie from the grave ... which would be fantastic!!!

I would do terrible things that would haunt me for eternity to have the chance to sit in a small space with Neil Young in concert.

After each of his recent concerts in Australia, the artist previously known as Prince (or just plain Prince) would go to a cafe and do an impromptu performance. I'd really like to be in one of those... Raspberry Beret has something uniquely alluring for me, and he apparently is a consummate entertainer.

I saw the Doors for free. Santana was the lead-in. Watched them at front row stage level before they opened the gates allowing the public in. As part of a fundraiser for daughter's HS band, I manned the beer concession while Santana performed. Due to contract, we had to close the tap when the Doors started. With nothing to do (and a concessionaire's smock on) walked right up to the stage to the stage to watch the Doors...then ditched the smock. It was their Bridges to Babalyon Tour and when they extended out the bridge, it arc'd right past me as it stretched from the goal line to the 50 yard line.

Last Saturday attended a free Blood Sweat and Tears concert at Mohegan Sun Casino. General admission line filled the arena about 10 people before I could get in. Had to wait standby for VIP reserved seating that didn't show. Got great seats. Amazing sound!

I'd probably spend $100 or so to see a Joe Hisaishi concert, provided it included an orchestra and large choir. In fact, that's about the only live performance I have any interest in seeing.

Well, The show was probably the best concert I have seen in a long, long time. McCartneys voice was actually very strong and he moves like a 30 year old. Played non-stop for 3:20 and did everything from Beatles and Wings to current stuff. His tour band was outstanding. If I had bought the 600 dollar ticket, I would have gotten my moneys worth.

Dear Edmonton, you need a new venue. Even if hockey never comes back.

I think probably about $40 is as high as I'd go. I've gone over $30 for bands I liked a few times (and festivals), but I'm a cheap bastard. One of my favorite bands I think ended up over $40, but that was because, to get a table with a little space rather than a folding chair against a wall, you had to order dinner, so food was included with that. I much prefer small venues with say 40-100 people at most to anything larger.

Do you mean besides the fact that he's an a-tonal whiney singer who had a couple good songs (in my book those would be Crash and Satellite, but those are more due to personal experience while listening than the songs themselves and other people can pick 2-3 different ones) and then became overplayed especially in the late 90's early 00's when I was in college?
