On the recommend a crank bandwagon:

Want to replace my several year old stock FSA Vero cranks with something nicer. Did their job but starting to creak and not stay tight anymore. They are currently 170mm with a 130bcd and a square taper 68x110 bb.

Want something stiffer/nicer looking/better quality and 165mm. Don't mind moving to 144bcd if needed but not a requirement. Obviously like to keep the chain line right, will replace BB too. NJS certification not required. Around $200 budget with BB.

Does anybody know if defiants are the same crank as these andels? http://www.velosolo.co.uk/andelwring.html Just thought it might be as the other Andel set has been sold under a number of different brands.

Yes they are.

Those are exactly the two I was looking at.

Are the IRD's in any way better than the Andels or just more classic looking?

Also what's the deal with the Andels with the integrated BB? Don't know much about those type of BB's vs. standard ones.

Will you be able to feel a difference while riding? No. Pick the one you think looks better.

GXP/Hollowtech-style BBs are supposedly stiffer than a traditional internal BB with a square-taper spindle. Again, you're not racing so you most likely won't feel any difference.

Scrod,

Can you get the standard Andels in silver with a black chainring like the Deluxe version? Just wondering if you guys would allow mix and match on these.

The standard Andels aren't available in silver/black.
