Hi, I guess I'm a sorta newbie.... I've loved bikes and riding all my life, but never had anyone to share that passion with, so I'm still very much clueless. My main interest in this forum was to get good advice on equipment selection, but it seems like yall got a nice community thing going on here :). I just got a '01 Tassajara mountain bike for my bday, which I plan on making streetable by throwing on a pair of slicks. Just went for my first long ride (22 mi) on Sunday, and just about died.

Well anyways, if any of you know any good places or groups to ride with in the Cherry Hill area, please let me know.

Welcome, deliriou5. I was raised near your neighborhood - Runnemede, NJ. I now live in central Pa. (30 miles north of Harrisburg). Nice riding down there if you can find roads with light traffic.

Last year I took my bike back to Runnemede and road my childhood routs for old times sake. First time in 40 years that I road in NJ. It’s a lot flatter down there than where I am now.

I might bring the bike down again this summer when we visit the in-laws in MtEphraim. I’d love to ride across the Ben Franklin bridge.

Hey 22 miles is really great for a ‘first’ big ride. Before you know it you’ll be doing centuries!
