Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Are some wheels better for skidding than others?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Do factors like weight, depth, spoke count, material, etc. improve skidding in terms of durability, ease, etc.
Right now I feel like getting 50mm deep Chinese carbon clincher rims from ebay to skid on. Bad idea?

Aerospokes usually skid the best.

If they didn't cost around a grand each, before shipping and stuff, then they're no good for skidding at all. You'll probably break the bike.

From my experience, the more expensive the wheel, the better it is for skidding. I bust out my Specialized carbon trispoke for skid sessions on the track.

Here we go again...
So OP will at least get something out of this: it's not the wheel itself it's the tire you choose to mount on to it.
