Bingo..He made those bikes with hang glider tubing, and the were beautiful. Do you think that anyone would sell one?

Yep, and they weighed 24.5lbs!

No way anyone's gonna sell one of those (I would be surprised if 1. they are still around, and 2. he made more than a handful).

The mtbr.com forums are full of guys/gals trying to find them.

If you are into retro MTB - that's a better forum. Vintage here is mainly road/touring.

Thanks for the tip on the website, I'll check it out. I did a test ride on one at the Rim Cyclery in Moab in 84, I think that they sold a few around that time. Quite a ride. Charlie's lady friend use to race on one, saw some pics of her racing topless...what a kick :D

Jacqui Phelan - at one stage used to race on drop road bars as well. Top chick!

Charlie made those drop bars, and all the Cunninghams I've seen had them. I know he sold bikes with flat bars too, not sure what style was most common. He sold the bars too, you had to call him at the shop to order. There were some great pics on the mtbr site, thanks for the tip!
