Where do you prefer to ride your bike, regardless of what kind of bike it happens to be?

I voted for off-road. On the other hand, I answered road bike on the poll about bikes?? I don't have a mountainbike but I like to ride my hybrid off-road sometimes and it's more fun than riding on my roadbike on the road.

I lean a little towards road riding, but since I don't really care what the terrain is like, I said "no preference."

I've ridden my trail bike on the road and I've ridden my 10-speed commuting bike with 26x1 3/8 tires on trails. One time, I was riding my commuting bike along with a friend that was riding his trail bike. We decided to go down this trail that ended up being very muddy. I was down to where every pedal stroke would hit mud, but I made it through! My friend had to get off of his bike and pull it through the mud!

I even had fun when I took my road bike with 700x23c tires through wet grass and mud to avoid a fallen tree!

I voted no preference because I like both and my favourite commutes involve both. I like the smooth speed of road, and occasionally even enjoy traffic but generally I like the abscence of traffic off-road and countryside. I'm not heavily into technical trail riding, an easy trail through beautiful countryside would be my choice.

I am not into real Xcountry, but I like trails through nice scenery, with few intersections to slow down for. I like the smooth rolling and speed on the roads, but the state of the pavement on many Montreal roads is worse than Xcountry.

98.875% of my riding is on the road with the trucks and the drunks and the other jerks. I prefer being off road on my two feet, instead of two wheels. It's easier to stop and smell the roses and commune with Nature.

I voted 'road', though my road bike is actually a mountain bike set up for speed. I love the rush of riding through traffic, so that might account for my preference. I'd also really like to do some touring soon.

I do ride off-road occasionally, which is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life (though the trails I ride are in the city). One thing I really like about riding singletrack is the lack of wind.

I want to start riding trials, too.

I voted 'off-road', but i use one of my bikes to cycle to uni everyday on the road. And i too love riding thru traffic at madspeeds, specially when the traffic is hardly moving :D

I voted "road." That's because I ride to work.

But today there was a tree down across the lane, so I went off-road to go around it.

Still, all I know is road, road, road...
