Anybody had some experience with matching Shimano 9 speed cassette (complete wheel set ) with Campy 9 speed Ergo and derailleur??

I actually happen to know this! A few months ago I was considering a transition from Shimano to Campy. Somewhere along the way I called Harris Cyclery to order some stuff and happened to get the man himself, Sheldon Brown, on the phone. In the course of the conversation I was asking about spacers to re-space a Shimano 9sp cassette to Campy spacing so I could use Ergo levers and Campy der without having to get a Campy hub immediately. Sheldon said re-spacing was not necessary in that case, that the Campy rear der with Ergo levers would work fine with a regular Shimano cassette because the spacing is so close. So there ya go.
YMMV,

Some say you can do it but, the spacing is wrong. It will work but it will never shift correctly. It will sound like an out of tune drive train. Now, you can purchase a wheels manufacturing cassette and space it for campy on a shimano hub, that will work fine. You can get the cassette and the spacer kit from Cambria outfitters for about $125.00 for everything.

They won't shift as smooth if you don't change the spacers.
