Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Another dumbo PSA

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
If you are chafed and put some Chamois Butt'r on your legs, remember to wash your hands before you ride to work, unless you like slowly, inexorably sliding forward on your bullhorns again and again and again for 5 miles. :twitchy:
Or use gloves, i guess. Whatever. That stuff really does make skin slippery.

You use chamois butter for a 5 mile commute?
What is this? Amateur hour?

Nasty ingrown hair rubbed raw by cargo shorts, but yes, it is amateur hour.
Like I said, let's close this before photos are posted. This is a family site. Supposedly.

If you need Chamois Butt'r and have ingrown hairs from doing a daily five mile "commute", it sounds to me like your bike is set up incorrectly and/or doesn't fit you.

Pics, be fine, just not of the area being described.
Why is "commute" in quotes? Do i need to post my home and work address or something? Feel free to look me up on map my ride.
I don't think the bike is causing the issue, it just happened and my poor choice of clothing just exacerbated it. Do i "need" chamois butter to ride 5 miles, no.
I posted this for the humor value of me sliding up the bars the whole way with the intention of poking fun at myself for being an idiot for having slippery stuff on my hands. Not for a bike fitting. I'm a fat, out of shape guy riding fixed to get into shape, have fun and get back into biking and i think i should just shut up and read this forum and stop posting until i'm pushing a 49x15 for 20 miles and not share my dippy stories. Probably a good plan.

You can post, but just be careful that it doesn't draw any negative attention to your post. With that, I'm going to close this.
