FIRST: I am not the seller, this if an FYI for people into street/dirt/vert:

For those of you with Hi-Ten, cheap, or worn out frames, I just ran across some very good deals on eBay for some frames.

There are five that are brand new old stock models, some with seat stay mounted 990 brake mounts that are selling for 35 bucks. 4 of the 5 are full 4130 frames and all are excellent for street use.

It's about 50 bucks for these frames shipped to your door, which is FAR less than you will find any new, high quality, 4130 frames for from a decent builder. Don't know what's up with the seller, but anyone even thinking about getting a new frame should just snatch one up.

I got one for my very limited time I spend riding street vs. flatland. They have multiple units on these frames, but grab one now if you can.

I am not complaining nessacerialy but there kind of heavy. Is there any way to cut the weight. I think if I got one I trim down those enormous drop outs and shorten them. Is there anything else.

No, that's about it - they are heavy... but you can, or WILL, spend over 4 times as much on a brand new frame to save 1 pound... maybe. I didn't say it was for everyone, just people who have crap bikes or are wearing their stuff out. 50 bucks shipped is unreal. Mine shipped today.

I don't either, but $35 for someone who doesent have the money to choose what kind of bike they do and do not like.

Really, nobody with DK in their name should be talking much about the quality of the USA made Schwinn frames from 3+ years ago. They had some of the best and toughest frames on the market.

There is no DK on the market today that really is better than those frames... but the auction is over and for some reason a lot of people on really crappy bikes didn't jump at the chance.

I've got my new frame sitting in the closet ready to be built up.
