I just finished making a head tube badge for my bamboo bike today. Thought I would share the results.

I found a tutorial on another forum (google search "custom head tube badge Bulldog") that went through the process of selecting the jewelers saw/blades and the thickness of metal sheet. I used a #2/0 blade, and some brass sheets.

I found a graffiti stencil and used that for the design template.

That's really cool :thumb:How many hours and dollars did you have to put into it?

I had to buy the saw and the blade ($10 used from a local jewelery supply store... I'm sure they could had on Amazon for less), the brass sheet ($7) and the wood block thing ($9). Oxidizer was pricey ($10) but only used 3 drops of the bottle so that bottle should last forever (but honestly some black paint or shoe polish would have netted the same result for $0 and much less smell).

Also, I already had a soldering iron and solder so that part was "free." So total investment was $36 and 5 hours of my time on a Saturday afternoon. But because I only used half the brass sheet and only broke one saw blade the next badge will be much less expensive.

That is pretty cool! And a Panda is perfect for a bamboo bike.

Eats, shoots and leaves. Love it.
