I listen to music on my i phone 4s and my Bose ear buds, and I don't like to pull my phone out of my pocket to check the time, so I puch the pause button on my headphones and just say "time" and Siri will say at the tone it will be 9:10, then she says "BEEP" gotta love it.The Bose ear buds make the ride so enjoyable too.
I've got that one too, but haven't found any ear buds that will stay in place. Those little foam thingy's don't work. I will look for a set of Bose, considering trying that out too. Can you still hear traffic coming behind you with music playing softly?

These are GREAT for staying in... BUT... they totally block out any outside noise. I wear them in the gym or on the trainer... I wouldn't try them on the road because they would leave you deaf to traffic noise.
(They sell them at Radio Shack)

I use sony MDR-J10s for music while riding. They are earbud-style headphones with a clip that goes over the ear. I find they stay on very well (most earbuds do not for me) and don't screen out much of the outside noise, to the point that if I pause the music I feel that my hearing is only barely affected. They are also cheap, you can get them for less than $10 shipped off of a big auction site. I've been through probably 5 pairs - they seem to last about 1-2 years before the cord or the jack gives out. But well worth it, IMO. My favorite riding and running headphones so far.
