Commuting - Cup holder that fits Dunkin Donuts cup?

I've been asking around at the bike shops in the Boston area about cup holders, and oddly, nobody seems to know if any of them will properly fit the typical Dunkin cup. Unfortunately, since I lack a cup holder, I haven't easily been able to stop into a shop with one of those cups, so I was curious if anyone here had any experience with that.

Before someone suggests that I just get a thermos and bottle cage, I'd like to point out that I don't stop for coffee every day that I ride into work, and sometimes that's a spur-of-the-moment decision, so I don't feel that it would be convenient to need to remember to carry a thermos constantly.

Not quite sure what type of cup you are referring to - like a styrofoam cup? If that's the case, then the one wicked posted should work.

No leaks thus far, either.

Yes, that style of cup holder is what I'm talking about. Dunkin uses styrofoam cups. I've seen a few of the cup holders have warnings say not to use them with paper cups, but I'm not sure if there's any reason styrofoam would have the same issues.

It shouldn't. Those stirrup-type holders have tapered sides that help to minimize pressure points.

Why not get a stainless cup that you can re-use? Just curious. - ahh, re-read OP. FWIW I always keep my cup either in a pannier or in the bottle cage - it's always there. Cheers!

If the thermos was in a bottle cage on your bike you wouldn't have to remember it.

I recall that type of cup holder was the solution for someone who was wanting to ride with a Big Gulp as well. Alas, I have no room on the bars for such a thing...

Yup, it fits very well, and I've had no leaks thus far. My cage is a prior version of THIS (http://bontrager.com/model/09664) one, though it looks like the new version is pretty similar.

Nice thanks I have similar type of cages, and really like that mug just wanted to make sure it would fit.

I've got the PDW Bar-ista (http://www.ridepdw.com/goods/cargo/bar-ista%E2%84%A2) on my ride, but it's a little small for my 7-11 Double Gulp cups (I drink unsweetened tea). It may meet your needs.

I picked up one of the Origin 8 ones yesterday, got to test it out this morning...works perfectly!

There are double wall Plastic Cups with a screw on lid and a captive straw that fit those holders ,
just pour the contents of your styrofoam cup in there , if they wont serve you coffee in Your Cup.

many places I go , they sell the coffee for less, if you supply the container.

given the softness of foam cups , I'd Stop before sipping, I'd probably do that with almost any container..

Drink espresso. I just chain the bike to a lightpost and have one at the bar on the way to work. It's also cheaper (1€), faster and tastes better. I can also scan the international newspapers really quickly :D

To explain, Dunk's around here is apparently not about "drinking coffee" as us outsiders would have assumed. It's part of a local morning ritual of affirmation, that the sun still rises in the east, the roads still turn in on themselves, and the Red Sox are still making regrettable trades.

I dunno about "from" Boston, I didn't grow up here...but I've been here full-time for 6+ years now. Really it's more just about getting quick and cheap caffeine fix without getting one of the canned coffee drinks from CVS next door to where I work! (which, ironically, is basically next door to Fenway Park, and I'm not a baseball fan at all!) :p

This is the Wally-World version. I only use it on Tim Horton’s cups though. What I liked about it was the Schwinn Quality badge is on upside down on every one I looked at.

He's in America, everything comes in XTRA LARGE size and must be consumed in disposable non-recyclable beverage cups. That's what FREEDOM is all about.

srsly though, I know he said not to mention it but...I'd carry a thermos or travel cup. You get more coffee for less price and less chance of it spilling.
It can be left on the bike in the bottle cage, or if you have a backpack, most have those side pockets for bottles/etc.

I'm flying into Logan tomorrow and I can't wait to get my first cup of ... flavored, burnt, super freaking hot, 1 liter-sized ... coffee.
