I have been using CLP to clean and lube my chain. No problems other than the wet lube is nasty and attracts all sorts of grit, especially when I ride on hard pack bike paths. I do not ride in the rain (unless I get caught out) so I'm considering a dry lube.
If I were going to change to a dry lube, would I need to remove the chain and go through the mineral spirits type cleaning before I used the dry lube? Would it be possible to just clean the chain as best you can on the bike and then apply the dry lube?
Also a question regarding chain removal. It will need to be pressed apart. Not a problem, as I have a chain tool. However, once a chain is taken apart, does the roller that was pressed out tend to not stay put as well?
Used the search function to read up on the dry lubes. I know they are like saddles, or anything else bike related for that matter! Everyone has there own opinion, and that is fine. If you want to recommend or bash one in particular, I will throw that into the mix of considerations.
