I have done a bunch of searches for this frame builder, but since "prologue" comes up in like 90% of all cycling websites and discussion threads, I can't find any actual info on this builder.

ANyway, I just picked up a Prologue cross/touring frame on EBay and it really looks great. the guy who owned it was a sponsored cyclocross rider who basically tried it out but found the head tube angle too slack. Anyway, it looked like a winner and I got it for a very good price. Now I'd just like to know if anyone else has one or knows anything more about the company.

thanks - and I will try to update this thread as I build up the bike. The process will be slow-going, because I jsut finished rebuilding/upgrading two road bikes and building a cross bike for my wife. Funds are tight and I really don't need an eighth bike -- but since my beloved Cannondale tourer was swiped last fall, I have waiting for the right project. Please send me any info you all have on this framebuilder.

Here is info on the Frame:

You are bidding on a 2003 Prologue alu touring frame with a alu touring fork. This frame is a long wheelbase and slack agles designed for long distance touring. I did try it for cyclocross but the head angle was a bit slack. Awesome bike for bumpy roads though. The clearence will tolerate a 700 x 38 c tire with fenders and front and rear racks. The frame is made of 6061 t6 aluminum with a tear drop down tube for extra strength. It comes with a 6061 alu fork painted to match the frame. the fork also has mounts for fenders and a low rider rack.

This frame has been ridden and has some cosmetic damage, nothing drastic though. The declas which have some damage can be pealed off and the paint chips can be touched up. Unfortunatley the right chainstay has some chips from riding on a bumpy road without a chainstay protector. this would be very easily covered.

All this reflects in the price which would normally sell for $600 Frame and Fork.

Here are the specs.

seat tube center to center is 53cm and center to top 57cm

horizontal (non sloping) top tube center to center is 59.5cm

the chain stays are 46cm

the wheels base is 110 cm

the seat angle is 73 degree and the head angle 71

the fork rake is 43mm.

The bottom bracket thread is english

the seat post diameter is 27.2

the weight of the frame only is 3.75lbs
