Cool and rain is the forecast for the next couple days... and normally I'd say I was dissapointed... but my DT spokes have arrived today, and I can start building up the Velo Orange PBP rims (Christmas present from the Mrs.) with Shimano 600 (7-sp Tricolor) hubs. :D

LoL... it was in the low 50s this morning... high today of 63. That's why I was careful to say "cool" instead of "cold".

Let us know how you like the rims. I'm thinking of lacing a pair to some Dura Ace hubs I have on the way.

And yes, a day lacing wheels is a great day indeed.

Haven't seen anything above 25 in over a week. I'd gladly take low 30's and some of the ice breaking up on these country roads. Looking forward to the pics.

It's cool, but it becomes chilly when I'm riding. The rain doesn't help either .

It's been over 20 years since I've built a set of wheels. I guess it's "just like riding a bike". FUN!!!

I'm THRILLED with the rims. they were straight and round. Once the spokes were tensioned, they were practically true already. I would not hesitate to buy them again... even if the price went up.

Dang! I wish I could have come and helped (more liked watched). I've always to learn how to build wheels but you make it seem like it's not too difficult. Yours turned out great. I have a set of tricolor hubs I need to build up some day.

Thanks! It really isn't that difficult... if you decide to try and need some tips, let me know! Probably the BEST tip I can give you... there is a guy on Ebay that is splitting up boxes of spokes and selling them in sets of 18. The "per spoke" cost is a bit higher than buying by the box... but it was nice to be finished and only have 8 spokes left over.
