I'm looking for a Miyata mixte and there is a seller in my town got this Miyata Mixte. I think the frame is different with the other mixte bikes I have seen, especially the seat stay. Could anyone please help me to identify this bike? Thank a lot.

I'be not seen one like that before. It looks like someone removed the seat stays.

Got more pics?

+1. I would think it has *really* noodly handling, too!

I agree it looks like someone was practicing their torching on that.

While it may have been altered, I'm not 100% convinced. There's a large bracket on the top of the drive side seat stay. It's too far down to be for a generator and if the frame had orignally had a additionally stay, it likely would have had the bracket. Regardless, the bicycle doesn't appear overly old, based on the unicrown fork. However, it still has a caliper front brake and threaded fork, so it's almost certainly entry level. The front light bracket also appears to be on the right fork leg anbd if so, indicates the intended market drives on the left side of the road.

Thank you! I thought the same thing that the seat stay had been cut off. Someone else just bought it. I have to look for another mixte.
