Classic & Vintage - My Burgundy Beauty, all finished. A bit embarassing though... I don't know the brand!

I bought this a few weeks before Christmas, and finished it up today. It was brought over here this year from Germany, and had not been touched since about 1995. The cables and whatnot were all 20+ years old, and it had rotten tubulars on it that were way out of true. I tore it down to bare frame, then built it back up cleaning and re-greasing everything, and replaced all the cables. I added the seatpost, Rolls saddle, pedals, and the clinchers. Everything else is original to the bike. It had no decals except for a Bike Shop called "Radel Bluschke" on the top tube, and the Columbus SL decal on the seat tube. Even if I never figure out what it is, it's still a fine bike and rides great.

So what do you guys think?

It's a beauty, and has some very distinct features. I bet the fine people here have it figured out shortly. Is there a serial number anywhere?

I'm gonna keep this one around for a while I think.

The geometry on these old bikes is never right for my body for whatever reason... I have a short torso but long legs, so I have to ride bikes with a 56cm max top tube and jack the seatpost way up high like it is to get a decent pedal stroke... I'm only 5'10. If I were to ride a 60cm frame (Which my legs require), I wouldn't be able to reach the handle bars even with an 80 or 90mm stem :( That's why I had to have Indy Fab build me a custom bike.

I think the Clubs are different from Colnago's. There was however, a bike that had similar lug detailing a few months ago on the forum. I'll see if I can find the thread.

About 30 years ago friend had an old 1951 Jaguar XK120. It's not a very common car and when people would ask him what it was he said it's a rare Italian "Pseudo-Placebo". Not to many people got the joke!

Brand? We don't need no stinkin' brand. That's a beauty. I like the way you have it outfitted.

Jonkers I believe it is! That cutout is identical, and found a few Columbus SL tubed ones online as well. They are a Dutch brand, which would make sense since this one came from Germany, Cool!

Regardless what you find the mfgr is it is one very beautiful bike. Very Well Done, Sir, Very Well Done.

Here you go, it's "compact" geometry and fits like a glove. If I did traditional, it would have a HUGE head tube and look really stupid.

Many german bike shops used to sell "house branded" bikes under their own label, they were reasonable bikes and typically a bit less expensive than big names. Most of these came from italy, italian frame makers were often present at german bike trade shows offering "built to your spec" deals. Biemmezeta and Billato were in that business, but also smaller, lesser known manufacturers. These sort of frames lacked the last detailing like chromed lugs or hand-filed cutouts, but had the same quality tubing. The same shops made often the not-top level bikes for big names like Colnago etc.

Some features of your frame, like the clover leaf-like lug cutout and the chromed seatstay ends, make me believe yours is one of those.

I have often thought it would be fun decal one of my bikes with the fine Italian name Bolascetti. But when I have mentioned it to friends most don't get it either.
