Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - How to make a 55cm target fixie fit someone that rides a 60cm bike?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I was at target today and saw a fixed gear bike on sale for $55 so i picked it up knowing its not my correct size but it was the last one and i couldnt pass it up..now i just need it to fit me .. i wasnt planning on buying a bike now coz of finances but if i can make this work then great, if not ill sadly send it back :/ .. My last fixie bike was a specialized langster 61cm and it fit perfect the top tube on it was exactly 60cm and seat tube 58cm with a 110mm stem
Here is the bike i bought

I def plan on changing the handle bars to bullhorns bars if i keep it .... seat height seems to be fine when i adjusted it ... Would a extra long stem make up for that 5cm difference or would i know be at some super weird angle.. a certain kind of handle bar ? sorry for the newb questions

What happened to your langster? How could you go from that to this??
If you are really set on making this bike yours, I'd suggest a longer stem, longer crank arms, and raise that seatpost like a flagpole. The money you are going to spend on this could be applied to a better bike you build yourself.

This thread is gonna be great. Thanks dude.
Ok, so far you've made a few mistakes.
1: Leaving Chicago for Florida. That's the opposite of normal. Florida blows. Rednecks and gators? Keep it.
2: Never sell a bike that fits perfectly just because you're moving. If you need money, hit every blood/sperm bank you can. Don't sell the damned bike.
3: You don't buy a Target/Walmart bike and post about it here unless you are going to do something stupid with it, unless you're prepared for the consequences.
In short, toss a new saddle on the bike, sell it as a "Custom Fixie Road Track Bike" on Craigslist for $200 and buy a real bike.

Riding bikes that are too small is "in" right now. You'll be fine.

I knew that the wisdom of silence was something I have gained during my advancing years.
