It depends on the day. Shortest route (video) is approximately 12 miles. If i'm doing an endurance ride i'll go for 30-40 miles around the lake first. I try to vary the rides everyday.

I'm surprised people actually know LTJ. I loved him in the 90's and still do.

You have to commit early or just take it easy and stop at the bottom. Going 40mph and hitting a red at the bottom of the hill is going to be bad news.
Nice!! :thumb:

Very cool. I liked the shadow-guy spinning away at 2:35 or so, and how it looked like you continued to ride through the hallways at work. :thumb:

Yikes, good eyes. They are great for solo rides, horrible for the person behind you.

I think the best part is how his work day only lasts from 3:51 to 3:52 :)

What is there not to like? I can understand if you are unfamiliar with the area as new places can be scary but Bellevue is fairly safe. There are bike lanes everywhere, the regular lanes are wide, and drivers are relatively accepting of cyclists.

I thought the same thing! Soooo nice

Looks like you started out in Mercer Island and rode downtown Bellevue. Enjoyed the vid, used to ride those streets often.

I try to take different routes as often as I can. I chose that route because I felt it would be more interesting to watch. I like the transition of the warm blinding sun to the cold ice covered trails. I also like being able to see the city at a distance and watch it progressively grow as I get closer.
From a riding perspective I generally take that route on my rest days as the elevation gain is stretched over a longer distance.

These two comments in tandem made me think I was going to hear a Less Than Jake (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUpqYgO5_YI) song in the video. What does LTJ mean in other peoples' worlds?
LTJ Bukem, a very important producer of hardcore/jungle/drum and bass. He's a legend "in this world", he's being producing tunes since the early 90's. Nowadays days he's ****.

Do you shower at work? I bring my lunch every day so it gets to be a pain to bike (especially when you eat mainly fruits and veggies)
Cool video though. Thanks.

??? What is so tough about commuting with a lunch? Not trying to be a jerk but....? You note mainly fruits and veggies, what is the problem with that? If it is bruising, why not a hard lunch box? Or font basket/panier if it is a room problem?
I'm curious because I ride with a lunch everyday and have never thought twice.

i dont even put my fruits and veggies in anything, just op top of everything else and they seem to survive the journey into my stomach just fine

Yes. I shower 3 times a day. When I get into work, after working out during lunch, and when I get home from work.
We have a fridge so I generally buy in bulk and deal with groceries once every other week. But I throw in bannans, apples, oranges, milk, salads etc just fine into my bag.

I forgot to mention that I bring a lot of food due to working a 12 hour shift and also the fact that I eat a lot. I also bring other stuff with me.

Cool! I liked the beginning where all of the sudden you were geared up and on the road in <2 seconds! And then the race down the hill to beat the light was great too.

I hope by "*****" you mean "5 stars", if so, I agree.
