Picked up this crazy looking bike from the local CL for parts for another project, no way I could ever ride it. I was told this was "custom" made, what do you guys think? welds look pretty clean, look like it had a cable stop repair at one time, takes a 26.2 seatpost, seat tube measures 65cm center to top and 61cm top tube, has a huge 61 tooth specialized chain ring.

If I was to attempt to build a frame, it would look something like that, but not on purpose.

I think you mean 65cm and 61cm , respectively.

I think someone forgot to tell the builder he needed to trim the tube length

If my calculations are correct... When this baby hits 88 MPH, we're gonna see some serious shi+...

That thing needs a fork a mile long and some ape hangers, make a TT version of captain america's bike. Be the star of every disease ride.

Coolest bike I've seen here in a long time. Built for riding up a steep hill very fast. For someone with VERY strong legs.

The frame builder was drunk one night...
Or it was designed as a bottom bracket test bed, puts maximum possible load on the bottom bracket. Test program is enhanced by use of 7-foot-tall 350-pound rider. He was such a gorilla that he tore off one of the shifter bosses. Also crimped the handlebars in his iron grip: Thus were born those awful "ergo" bars.

Hey, now you'll know what a 90-degree seat tube feels like.

That HT angle is whack. And the bar/stem is probably all wrong, too.
Maybe it originally had a 24" front wheel, but even that doesn't seem in my head like it would solve all the problems.
Makes me wonder - how would it ride with a reversed fork?
I think what it really needs is a psychedelic paint job and hang it on the wall.

Looks almost like a purpose built climbing bike. Interesting though.
