I'm actually really digging it - it's unusual and different, which I find appealing. I don't know if it's classic, but I like it.

I like it too, can respect the engineering put into it. Just probably doesn't justify the weight or cost incurred.

Unfortunately, the aesthetics of that bke looks like the result of it falling off a roof rack on the freeway in rush hour and getting run over a few times...:rolleyes:...but I guess it works OK on the trails though.....:rolleyes:

Actually, we have some roads around here where that bike would be useful. And at ~20#, it's lighter than most of my bikes.

That's not bad at all, weight-wise, for a dual-suspension. I rode a 1997 Cannondale Silk Road 500 for awhile, with the front road shock, and only ever got it down to about 19 pounds. Somehow I don't really care for the looks of that one though. I'm sure a smiley belongs here, but I'm not sure which one, so this'll do, I guess. ;)

I wonder what year it was made? It is really wild looking and eye catching for a road bike. :thumb:

The frame has the general look of a Cannondale MTB frameset--- Raven--- IIRC. It is a great concept for the rough, frost heaved roads, of northern New England or other places which suffer the same sorts of conditions. This is why I like my Silk Road Cannondale as well. The Headshok seems like a more elegant solution to such a challenge, and if more suspension is needed I guess I could add a suspension seatpost.

I once spotted on Boston's CL a Litespeed Ti road bike which had incorporated a Silk Road headshok and utilized the Litespeed rear MTB shock placed between the top of the seat stays and the seat tube. In this instance there is no pivot at the BB. The titanium chain stays flex enough and work in tandem with the small rear shock to effectively dampen the rear. To me this was a very elegant solution to a full suspension road bike.

It kind of reminds me a little of the DKS Serottas (which I would jump all over given the chance).

That reminds me, my Silk Road 500 has a sticker on the seat tube, that says Island Bike & Triathlon, with a Hawaii address. How cool is that. :D It's definitely been used, it has a few chips in the paint, like it was dropped hard in gravel or something, but it still looks decent enough. It's not going to rust, so I've just left it alone. ;)

I like it. It sometimes takes radical ideas to find new refinements. I'm really into the earlier, more basic era of bicycles but I admire the fact that people try to move beyond that, the spirit of it. This bike has that, plus it looks rideable.

I love it and built is lighter than I thought first looking at it. I wonder how big a tire it will take?

I guess there was an experimental stage going on at one time for suspended roadies.

Reminds me of the Trek Y-model MTB's with road components, or a Y-Foil with suspension added.

Bronze plated it would be cool in a Steampunk kinda way....have to add some carbide lamps and fenders....hmmmm no eyelets or lamp bracket....sure signs this might not be C&V.
