Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Ha! Huffy track bike!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I don't know if this has been posted, and frankly I don't care because maybe it deserves to be posted twice!

Actually these track frames were REALLY good, made by serotta, I think. Excellent qaulity.
They weren't made by Huffy, just a huffy sticker applied so that they could say that they 'sponsored' the team..

it's not really a huffy, they were just the sponsors.
i forget who actually built those bikes, but iirc they're pretty sweet.

Made by Serotta, if I remember correctly. Marcus has one in his shop and it is HOT, though different design from this one.

Yep. Read my post above.
acc'ding to the ebay listing:
Q: I was told Dave Moulton built the Huffy national team bikes. I could have that wrong, but I'm quite sure the bike in the pics isn't a cinelli either. Whomever wins is getting a great deal anyway, but you might double check just for the sake of feedback and such. Good Luck, Gene Powell
A: it is a cinelli thanks amanda
Q: what's the actual make of the frame, can you send me better pictures of the lugwork, what kind of drop outs does it have, are the rims tubular or clincher, what kind of hubs are on the wheels and whats the condition of the wheels, what kind of handlebars and is the top tube (c-c) and seat tube (c-t) both 48cm, has it ever been crashed, any dents dings paint chips of note?
A: make of the frame is cinelli, drop outs are track, tubular, mavic hubs in good condition, bearings good condition, sun mistral alloy rims, profile bar and stem, no crashes, dents or paint chips, c-c on top tube is 51cm, c-t seat tube 49cm, c-c seat tube is 48cm.if you have any other questions please let me know. i did not ride the bike very much at all. thanks amanda.please send me a email at essenceoftouchdayspa@comcast.net and i will send you the other pictures. thanks amanda

look at the bid history http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=7130380824 , there are a bunch of bids from two people with 1 and 0 feedback respectively.
it's not conclusive, but it looks a little fishy to me.

At Recycled Cycles here in Seattle, they have a Murray track bike that is made by Serotta. Maybe you were thinking of the Murrays?

serotta made both huffy and murray 7-11 frames.
here's a shot of the murray. note serotta decals on the chain stays and a serotta stamp on the top of the seat stay.
