Ossie Davis, who was an excellent actor and well respected died of natural causes today. I always had great respect for him and his wife, Ruby Dee. I just saw a movie of his the other day. It's just so sad.
RIP, Ossie.

Truly he was a great actor. I remember him mostly from Grumpy Old Men. Seemed like a good man.
so sad. :(
He was great in "Bubba Ho-Tep".

Yeah, I just watched "Bubba" the other day. I love it when older, well respected actors are willing to still do wild movies! It's a shame.

What a life! One of America's leading actors for over sixty years. Married for 56 years to the same beautiful and gifted woman. And, courageous enough to be a leader in fight for civil rights during a time when doing so risked both his career and his life.
If the folks who wrote "American History" books for high school students would stop wasting so many pages on presidents and generals, there would be room for the really important figures of American history. And, for six decades, few Americans contributed more to the nation than did Ossie Davis.

I was previliged to hear him and Rubbie Dee speak to us at my college many years ago..They talked about not coming out of the same cookie cutter..Very impressive presentation.
I saw them both in an interview a couple of years ago. I was moved by the love they had for one another after so many years. It made me wish they were my parents. ;) They were both a very powerful couple, and I'm sure she is devastated over this, especially since she was so far away at the time of his passing. God bless them both.
