Fifty Plus (50+) - Noobie, pic of new bike (guess where I am)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just picked up my new bike, a 2013 Specialized Sirrus Elite XL(size of bike), have had it for a week now. I love it, and have my first picture to post. Would really like to see how many people can identify where this was taken(hint is in my username). I found this trail yesterday, very scenic and an easy ride. If anyone else has this bike, what if anything have you changed, upgraded, or added to it, and how do you like it? My only regrets are that I waited till January to order it, and the weather is not always agreeable here. Fire away!

Glad that you found a place to ride...

As for upgrading the bike? The best upgrade is your butt in the saddle. I makes it go further and faster than any other option you could buy....
... So whatever facilitates that particular option will be the best for the bike: water bottles, clothing, headlights/tail lights... Whichever makes it a more enjoyable experience and/or takes away your excuses to stay home and sit your butt in a recliner rather than a saddle.

Some LBS's are all about racers and they may not be able to identify enough to help you. Mine is particularly good at that and the result has been a much lighter bike for me because it doesn't have to haul around a big, heavy wallet...

The best option? Enjoyment!

At the west end of KC's Riverfront trail, just under the lewis and Clark bridge. But I may want to know more about the GC in Mission. LOL

Umm, he could be at the Command And Staff College for the U.S. Army or an armored type tread head.

I would add this (http://www.amazon.com/Planet-Bike-Blinky-eXtreme-Bicycle/dp/B000KBEH1W/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1359773534&sr=1-1&keywords=superflash+blinky)superflash blinky. Drivers give you more space when you have a flashing light, even in the daytime.

Plus a water bottle holder and a pump.
