Just had my chain tool fail (3 of the 4 bridges broke all at once) while getting a new chain ready for my bike. What's currently the best option for a durable chain tool for 1/8" chains? Park CT-7?

The only way for 3 of the 4 fingers to break is if you were holding the chain in the 2 ling loosening fingers and were going way too far in the link loosening action. Is this right? Or was something else that escapes me going on?

The Cyclo tool is pretty lightweight. Many of the newer chains have highly rivoted over pins. Yes, i think a CT-7 is a much better tool for modern chains of the 1/8" width family. Andy.

you are supposed to use the slot furthest away from the drive pin. i use the park tool one. also that chain tool is for derailer chain. i think the new park style has a sliding plate for different widths
