I have come across a trek 420 and wonder what is the difference in Trek 520 and Trek 420 built in the 90's (I guess).
It has a chain protector sticker indicating "matrix equipped" and the rims are 700c made by Matrix.
I rode the bike and felt a little unstable and short wheel base feeling, compared to my usual ride on a MTB or a Fuji Supreme (27" wheels) fitted with a MTB bar.
This is may be because i have never been comfortable with drop bars. I am tempted to get it because it has 700c wheels which none of my other bikes have.
Is the Trek 420 a good bike for touring? I don't see many accounts using that bike.
