1971 Columbia Tourist V 5-speed. My wife says it reminds her of a Studebaker. :D

Hey!! Studebakers were good depend cars in their day. Not pretty
to be sure but they were dependable. This bike looks to be dependable
too and not pretty.......just like a Studebaker. ;)

Hey, my Dad used to have a Studerbaker back in the day, and was very fond of it. He also had a Rambler with 3 on the tree that I learned to drive with. Sure beats walking.

I think this is the sort of Studebaker being referred to...

I never got the whole Studebaker=ugly thing. I always thought they were RAD. That bike is RAD, too!

If it was a Studebaker, wouldn't the back-end look like the front-end?

Hey I can hear the chain tapping against safety fender.
It actually is probally a pretty smooth ride in city.
Any bike is better than no bike at all!

You should put some baseball cards in the spokes attached with clothes pins to capture the true essence, and re-submit the photo, then when everyone veiws we'll go BUURRRRRR (it's hard to get that effect from the keyboard!)

My dad had a 64 (I think, could be a year off) Grand Tursisamo Hawk, and like all SB Hawks, it was about 15 years ahead of it time on styling. Compare a 60's ear Hawk with a 70's Camero and you'll see what I mean, low and wide profile and understated for the day. Wish I still had dad's GT Hawk, and wish I still had dad! both classics.
