Would like a recommendation on a floor pump with gauge for presta valves, don't want to spend too much. Hopefully someone can refer me to a good one. Thanks in advance!

This topic comes up a lot and a search should find numerous threads. It seems everyone has their own favorite but the Silca Pista is almost universally liked. I have one of these and can recommend it.

However, my daily use pump in now a Park PFP-4 retrofitted with a Hirame pump head that has been great but the combination won't leave you any change from $100.

Torelli Amalfi pump. Cost around $65 and I use it at my shop. Took me 3 years to wear out the rubber grommet on the pump head and I pump allot of tires at my shop. It is tall with a long hose, top mounted pressure gauge and nice rubber handle. I would routinely wear out the Park Tool pumps and a few months at my shop. Silca is a very nice pump as well. Spend the money on a tool that you will use for years.

A Silca Pista is an obvious choice. Still trying to wear one out after 40 years.

At a lesser altitude, a Joe Blow is pretty good choice.

I have a Silca Pista and I hate it. The valve is ginormous and it's a PITA to screw on to threaded valve stems.... now that I've gone all smooth it's a PITA to get to seal on those too. I must be doing something wrong though.

It's a joy to use AFTER I get the valve on - very well made.

I like my Joe Blow and Topeak has been very responsive anytime Ive needed a part for any of their products. I also have a Park PFP 4; its fine but I'm not a huge fan of the head design.

i'm quite happy with the Specialized Air Tool Comp that I picked up from a clearance pile a few years back (ok about 10-12 years) for $20 or osmething. been a great pump, fits presta and schraeder equally well, pumps up to 140psi,has a nice steady base, easy to read pressure gauge.

Re Silca track pumps..

I suspect folks shove the presta air chick on too far.. there is a smooth band between the 2 thread types
the air chuck seals fine.. in between the cap and the ring nut thread..

I did for a while.. till I had the D'oh moment..

thats just wrong, they need to name it like a cindy blow or something. a joe blow just sounds gay.

You can get any medium range pump in the store, the only thing you need to do is to trash the chuck and install a silca presta chuck.
