Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just wanted to share a personal experience which i owe alot to biking, i started 4 months ago at 200 lbs, and at 6 feet tall this was a rather chuby weight. And after four months (and still going) of healthy eating, regular running, and LOTS of biking, i am not 170 lbs, and much happier with me weight (although i dont plan to stop the healthy eating + weight loss). My one question is, for a 6 foot tall male, what is the ideal weight?
There is no ideal weight. Find the weight at which you feel the best.

Different weights for different body types. Body fat percentage is a much better measure of fitness. If you want to set a good target weight, you should get you body fat tested. Most gyms will do this for a fee, or you can use some of the online body fat estimation calculators. This one seems fairly decent:

Like you I was 200lbs and 6 ft tall about a year ago, if you felt rather chubby you must have felt like I did at that weight. I am now running about 160 give or take a couple of lbs and it feel about right, will probably weigh about 155 this summer. I am rather skinny though, if you are more of the "brawny" type the 170 might be perfect for you.
