I was assuming Shimano was going to do the big launch with new 2005 bikes, but I haven't seen any of it yet. Has anyone?

How does it shift? The DA 10 is way better than any 9 speed. Does Ultegra shift as well? How do the levers look? How do the feel? Do they rattle or have other annoying qualities?

Hope to upgrade this spring, just wondering what the early buzz is.

Got it. Like it. No rattles. No shakes.
Shifts are solid and quick.

It looks a bit industrial. The cranks aren't as pretty as the DuraAce 10.

I didn't feel like paying full price for DA. It's a bit overpriced IMO.

I love my DA10. If the ultegra 10 is as nice then it should be awsome...

Hey,

Just got the new DA 7800. Do any other cog sets work (well) with it - hate to put
DA 7800 on cheap wheels for training.

The ultegra 10 should work ... 2/3rds of the price

Yeah I got Ultegra 10 but not ridden it yet as my cranks haven't arrived!!!

Everything looks very pretty , the shifters feel far nicer to use than 9s Ultegra due to the ergo redesign. No complaints here.

Make sure they/you install those crankarms properly by tightening them evenly. The shop had built my bike and in my first race with it, just as it was setting up for a sprint finish, all of a sudden I feel this weird lightweight feeling on my foot.... my crankarm was connected to my shoe but not to the bike... what the? I was lucky it didn't happen fifty more yards away.

I've been using the Ultegra 10 speed groupset minus the cranks since late November and I must say it's sweet. Shifting is crisp and precise and I love the way the hoods are shaped such that you can grab them like bull horns. I got a FSA Carbon Team Issue for the cranks with Dura-ace 10 speed chain. Looking forward to many more happy miles on them.

Got the full setup with the FSA SL-K compact crank and an IRD 11-23 Elite cassette. Looks and works fantastic. Night and day in comparison to the old 9.

Pricey for the most part but some deals can be found.

i second this. my left DA crank arm fell off on one of my training rides (luckily not during a
race and luckily pretty close to home). of course, the shop that built my bike also put the
incorrect internal headset in the frame. hopefully you will have better luck.

Just started racing my 10sp Ult. GT and I love it. Bike comes with FSA SLK carbon hollow tech. cranks with o/b bearings, 11/23 rear and 34/50 front set, all just great and sub 8kg. What more could one want.

Wow!! I'll definitely make sure about the even tightening procedure now! Thanks for the info!
