I'm looking for something for the cruiser. There's a lot of crap on the internet. Need something with a bit of style, perhaps some chrome, and quality.

Able to hold coffee or beer / soda can sizes. Don't need a jumbo Big Gulp, thanks.

Any links appreciated. Personal experience and pix extra welcomed.

I've been looking for one too. I like the looks of the one from Soma (http://www.somafab.com/archives/product/morning-rush-coffee-holder), but I am not so sure about it. I have seen the one from PDW (http://www.ridepdw.com/goods/cargo/bar-ista%E2%84%A2) in person, tried my cup with it, and my cup would not fit. I haven't ridden with one like this though.

A guy at my LBS recommended getting this: http://www.rei.com/product/826382/stanley-nineteen13-one-handed-vacuum-mug and using it with a regular bottle cage. That doesn't answer your issue w/beer or soda cans, but it works well with coffee.

What about a standard bicycle water bottle rack?

Maybe you can get one that holds drinks steady on a boat at sea. gimballed to roll in all directions.

I got the PDW version on a town bike. It works.

My cup holder:

Piece of giant bamboo hose clamped to a reflector bracket and covered with twine. Work good.

Gimbaled (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gimbal), self leveling. I suppose they custom made it.

Felt makes a nice hi-tech looking cup holder. http://2009.feltracing.com/09-catalog/parts/accessories-and-extras/09-felt-cafe-coffee-cup-holder.aspx

It only takes tapered cups so if you want to drink (beer) and ride, you'd need some type of insert.
