First a disclaimer: I'm a rabid Beatles fan, and I can't be expected to look at this rationally.
Of those who saw it, what did people think of the Superbowl halftime show? Frankly, it was the only halftime show I can ever remember feeling positively about. In fact, I really liked it. I'm amazed how little his voice has changed with age and it was nice to hear some real talent after a mediocre pre-game show. I'm not entirely convinced it wasn't pre-recorded and the fake fans around the stage were lame, but the stage looked pretty darn cool.

It was the only part of the Superbowl that I saw. I loved it. McCartney looked and sounded damned good!

Yeah, it was the best halftime show I have seen in a number of years. I'm glad they kept it clean this year.
I was dissapointed,
I was waiting for some serious controversy over a nippleslip
and a years worth of FCC censorship.

Me too! I sure don't want to see nudity while I'm enjoying violence and brutality! :D

:roflmao:
People forget that the Beatles were once scandalous themselves. Long hair, drug references, John claiming that the Beatle were bigger than Jesus?
Of course, Paul always was the Cute One.

I don't think I'm ready to see Paul McCartney's nipples.

Did anyone catch the SNL reference to what he was supposed to reveal with a wardrobe malfunction? Thank god that didn't happen!!!! :)

Best part was everybody knew the songs. If the organizer's goal to make SuperBowl appealing to wider audience, they should make selection based on tried and true old artists whose songs played on the radio over and over for at least ten years, not the ones people forget in a few years. And get rid of that lousy volunteer dancing and all that fluffy colorful things.
The musician I would vote for the next Super Bowl half time would be, Elton John, or Billy Joel among othe about ten different musicians (one artist a show)with minimal stage set up.
Edit: Personaly, I would love to see Eagles.
The stage was pretty sick though. With all the animation.

Kenny Loggins RULES!
I don't think I'm ready to see Paul McCartney's nipples.
well I'm not either, I was thinking of all those female fake fans in the audience,
or the country chick with Charlie daniels. . .
or. . .

I thought it was really cool. WAY better than the crap they usually have, and you're definitly not going to have a "wardrobe malfunction" with him. :D

Crazy. He didn't look like your stereotypical Brit, I'm afraid.
It's too bad they didn't bring in Ringo Starr or Pete Best. That would have been awesome!

Ah...the first time I ever heard of Paul McCartney was in 7th grade...at lunchtime, all the 7th grade girls were walking around singing "We love you Paul, Paul, Paul..." The "smart" girls preferred John.
Hard to imagine that today all of those 7th grade girls could be AARP members...time does fly.

Then you'd have had a 'Beatles Reunion Concert" and the promoters wouldn't have wanted to pay the tab for that one!

I liked it. Nice and wholesome... a good 'family' event.
The stage was awesome. I liked how each musician was in his own 'zone'
-and the animations looked great.
I, too, was struck by the sea change since the sixties - Beatles records once were burned
after John said they were 'bigger than Jesus', and now Sir Paul is being held up as a role model.
Kept waiting for him to drop his trousers and moon the audience, but that never happened. :(
I was quite thankful the halftime performer wasn't some trendy 'star-of-the-moment', and was actually a great and respected artist like Sir Paul. Best halftime show in years. But that's not saying much...

It was the worst super bowl halftime show in history. Old hat! Usually there is something new and innovative. I literally turned it off. BTW, I am also a Beatles fan, but was hoping for something spectacular - not totally mundane.

/sarcasm on/ Yeah, how could Paul McCartney ever hope to compete with "Up With People"? /sarcasm off/
Sometimes I think that some people won't be satisfied until there is a human sacrifice live at the halftime of the Super Bowl. It's only Rock and Roll.

Don't watch the lame sport and then you won't feel obligated to watch a lame half-time show! :D
