There is something I find very curious about the Profile pages. Most questions about the person are left blank. I'm curious as to the why of this. Is it fear of losing anonimity or is it something more relevant like the fear of "big-brother"?
When I read a persons question, I always check the profile to get an idea of whom I'll be talking to, but mostly it's to a shadow not a whole person that I respond to. Does anyone else feel this way?
It's hoped no one will assume this to be anything more than curiosity. I am not trying to be critical of anybody. lj

I think the only thing required when you register, is your username, password, and email address. Some people just dont take the time to tell us where they live, what they do, and what they like.
I understand that it is not a requirement, I don't think it should be. I have no complaints because the members of this forum don't fill in all the blanks. You say "they don't take the time" and that is where my curiosity comes in to it. Why, don't they? It just seems to me that when you come to a place like this for an exchange of ideas and to receive information, there would be a little more comaraderie or "espirite de corps" or plain old friendliness if the members took the time. I'm not saying that they have to or that they should. Maybe they just don't think this is the format for friendships. It isn't, after all a chat room per sae. The Profile Question is just an idle curiosity on my part. Nothing more. And unless the webmaster kicks me off, I'll continue to respond to questions and ideas whether the profile is filled out or not. But I'm still curious. lj
I agree,
We should encourage new members to give complete profiles, as it can only add to the quality of the forums.
