Whats the best way to learn how to maintain and fix your road bike? Would you recommend taking a class on maintenance? Or just by a video or book on the subject to learn it? Any suggestions please.

You can take classes, but you will still need books as a reference.

Get a junker. Take it COMPLETELY apart, and put it back together.

Then ride the re-assembled bike 100 miles with tools along for the ride.

I will probably take the courses, and buy some maintenance books, but the 100 mile thing, I don't know about that. I don't think I could possibly ever trust my maintenance expertise to take a piece of crap on a 100 mile long ride. Well anyways, thanks for the advice.

Oh, heck no. Sorry, I didn't mean for you to fix your first bike and then do a century.

What I should have said was cover 100 miles on the bike after you fix it. That could be 10 miles at a crack ten times or maybe ride around your block 200 times.
