BMX - i have new 3 piece cranks and....

ok, i have some new profile bmx cranks9 that rufly costs about $150) and in my dropout thing were they fit
(and that i origanaly had 1piece cranks in) that there are little, well i dont no but, like spacers or some thin,
and it doesnt want to fit so should i use, some kind of hammer or a screw driver to get em out, or
should i just take it to the local bike shop, HELP!!!HELP!!!HELP!!!IM IN NEED THE RACIN SESON IST FAR AWAY AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

did you take the cups out when you took the one piece off? you might just want to take it to a bike shop, because i didn't understand a word you said.

I understand, I had the same confusion when I was instaling my first 3 piece crank. All that they are is cups to hold your unsealed berrings for your 1 piece crank. Since your new 3 piece crank has sealed berrings the cups and berrings don't come apart, eliminating the need for the old cups in your B.B.(where the crank goes in the frame).
So you can just pound out the old cups in your frame with a hammer and a screw driver or something. Don't wory about damaging your old cups when you pound them out, I hammered mine out with a 3 pound mullet and a piece of pipe and the cups were hardly scratched.

so i was right, he just needed to take the cups out.

Remove the bottom bracket cups by inserting an old seatpost or metal tube... or screwdriver that you don't care about, through one side of your frame and put it on the lip of the cup on the opposite side. Then beat the heck out of it with a hammer. Work around the edge of the bottom bracket and be ready for it to take a few minutes to get the old cups out. Don't let anyone stand across from you because it may shoot out with reckless abandon.

Getting the new bearings/cups in may require a trip to the bike shop though, so you may want to just take it all to the shop and give them 10 bucks or so to install your new bottom bracket and remove the old cups.

I was trying to pound out my old headset cups out of my old frame using a pipe I out through the headtube. It was perfect size to fit in the headtube and still hit the cups in the frame, so after a couple of hit with a hammer without it budging I had the great idea of holding the frame by the chainstay and pick it up over my head and hit the pipe on the ground wich would force it up higher through the headtube forcing the cups out. One time when In hit it the cups whent flying in the air and I didn't hear them land for atleast 15 seconds. It's hard to explain, but it was great if you were there.
