Short story: A freind of mine, Matt, is a huge David Bowie fan. He was at his Uncles house in NYC and was looking at some photos on the wall. He saw one of a dinner party. David Bowie was there. Standing next to Bowie was a five year old Matt.

There's a tough question. My favorite of the moment has to be "Moonage Daydream".

Any song on the albums recorded with Mick Ronson on guitar:

Albums:1970-1972
The Man Who Sold the World
Hunky Dory
Space Oddity
Ziggy Stardust

My favorite single song is perhaps one he wrote
for Ian Hunter (Mott the Hoople): "All the Young Dudes"

Tie for my favorite album between Hunky Dory and Ziggy Stardust

The Laughing Gnome (DB:"What's that clicking noise? Gnome: That's Fred he's a MetroGnome), Moonage Daydream, The Man Who Sold the World, Let's Dance, China Girl, Ashes to Ashes, Ziggy Stardust .....

There's so many. Seeing him in concert recently kicked ass

"Diamond Dog" was my CB handle when I drove a truck, so that's obviously one of them. There's just too many to list.

Doctor Who

Queen B itch
Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)
Bombers
Kingdom Come (I know it's a Verlaine cover)
Red Sails
Breaking Glass

My favorite albums of his are from his Berlin era, right after he cleaned up from the coke binging.

Oh, BBC 6 is playing Golden Years right now. That's a great song too.

Best Bowie song recorded by another artist: "All the young dudes" by Mott the Hoople. Singer Ian Hunter later formed Hunter-Ronson with the aforementioned Mick Ronson and did some interesting stuff too.

Let's Dance
I'm afraid of Americans

Under Pressure is great, I just wish people would assume it was David Bowie rather than Vanilla Ice when I play it at work. *sigh*

I won't even try to list all the awesome songs he's put out. Some of the best, most long-lived music ever....
