Solid tires are awful, i had an old rode bike. They have no dampening at all, and they are heavy. Also i hear they are not good for the rim, an air filled tire provides some cushion, so its not like the rim is getting all of these shocks directly, but with the solid tire its almost as bad as riding without tires

I think that he might mean tires that are colored all white (as in not just white sidewalls), not those stupid solid tires.

back in the olden times of our great grandparents the dynosaur bicycles came with nicely funky colored tires. Mostly white, but also red. Kinda like the green cyclocross tires that seem to be disapearing... I have an old old bike that I wanted to put all red tires on. Oh, Coker Tire has all white ones...
