I've had a pair of 36 hole DA 7600 hubs sitting around for a while and am finally going to build them up for a new custom frame. Anyone have any good suggestions for 36 hole clincher rims? This will be my "nice" wheel set.

Find your local custom shop and get them to diamond-cut and polish the lip of the rim. Pure bling.

My friend has been using DT rims to build his last 2 wheel sets and they are some nice rims. I forget the model numbers he used but I would look into those both wheels came out looking really cool.

Hi,
my wife has the Open Pro Ceramic rims. I'm jealous.
If the bronze-ish color goes with your frame, that would be
bling in my book.

I dont get it...wouldn't you just have to put rim strips over those holes? or wouldn't you?

As I stated in another thread (or rather all over the place and to echo terror's point):

Deep V's baby, deep V's.

the problem with the deep V's is that you can't get them in silver anymore.
anyone know where i could find some?

Dolface - there's a pair of Miche hubs laced to Silver Deep V's for $200 in SF in the craigslist thread...

racer sportif (http://www.racersportif.com/) out of canada has a pair that for US$125, shipping included. that's about the same price you'd pay for cxp33s and deep vs.

I'll second the CXP-30's. I have a pair on each of my bikes.

for those rims, you still have to put rim strips on them, but you can put colored electrical tape or whatever, the holes are for weight saving since those rims are 46mm wide :D

thanks absntr, i saw those wheels posted, but i want to build a set of wheels on phils, and and paying $100/rim, even for those, is a biut outta my price range.

too bad the pair of silver cxp 30's on ebay right now are only 28 hole...

stronzo, did you check out those campy ypsilon rims on nashbar? i think those are pretty hot myself.

Once again the bling is here - http://www.deuce-usa.com/, though i am not sure if they are track specific ;)

Man, if I'd known about those clearance rims (actually, I think I checked--they must've just gone on sale) before, I would have bought a pair of those instead of the MA3's I'm building up my new wheels with.

I'm terrified of cracking the eyelets. I know statistically it's not terribly likely, but it's irritating. Ano doesn't actually fix anything, it's spec hype. Grr.

I like my gold anodized Mavic OR10's, but they are tubulars so that doesn't help you.

For clinchers I agree with the Deep-V's.

i saw silver deep v's at freewheel on hayes. (as well as white and gold!!). i'm pretty damn sure they were deep v's... possibly aeroheads... which actually look pretty nice anyway. I'm riding a set right now.

i'm in the process of building my first trials bike. i was goofing around on a monty mod last weekend and i am hooked. my friend just got his stock ground up completed last night... so he's giving me his stock koxx. you always need another bike!

sorry to derail the thread...
