I got something like this and played around with them forever until they finally gave up and moved on. They started slacking off when I told them I was having my law firm handle the details.

I wonder how many fall for that stuff.

When you reply and want to collect your "winnings" they will probably ask for your account info. It's then that they take advantage of you and start the process of stealing your info. If you look for the term "419 scam" you'll find quite a few variations on this (from the original Nigerian letter to recent Tsunami scams)
