He doesn't appear on the Disco roster for 2005. Wonder where he is.

Jesus, is CSC just going to ride break aways all year long? Guidi, Julich, Michaelsen, Peron, Piil, Sastre, Voigt, Zabriskie. You let one or more of them off the front for too long and you can forget it. That's a formidable group to have pacing Basso around France. A lot of pacesetters. I wonder how this will affect their strategy this year...

I thought the same thing (funny). I'm actually very impressed however with Bruneel's offseason moves. I really never thought about it until I saw the list recently. Some notables;
Roger Hammond (GBR)
Leif Hoste (BEL)
Benoît Joachim (LUX)
Yaroslav Popovych (UKR)
I'm convinced that Hammond would rip your ear off and shove it down your throat if it meant winning a bike race. And Popovych can ride!!

Popovych broke his collarbone at Quatar (I think) on the first day and will be out for a while. Put a big spot on Giro preparations..
The guy who fractured his collarbone was Paolo Savoldelli. Popovych hasn't even raced yet - I believe his first race is the Volta ao Algarve.

Yes..but Joachim was brought back the very next year and has been with Postal/Discovery ever since. He is a mainstay to that team....has been there for quite a while. Must be a favorite of Bruyneel's.
