Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - anyone here know the trackstar NYC people?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
tell them to finish their website. the splash page is really nice looking. I want more! Are they gonna have an online store?

They don't even take credit cards and you want them to have an online store?
Cash is king over there. Such sweet goods peddled at their tiny boutique.

Note, I was in there this past weekend and Brad told me they will be taking credit cards as of this past Monday. So, its no longer cash only. Which I think is a good thing.
Nice. Maybe an online store will follow. Or at least a list of their stock so you can call, order and have them ship stuff to you. Some of us are not fortunate enough to live in a city with a track specific store!

I used a card to pay for a chainring there yesterday :)
To quote Homer: "The system works"
sorry this might be a bit of a thread jack, but its kind of related. a few weeks back i had a small repair done at trackstar and recieved stellar service. i paid for the work and left, but on the ride home i wondered, are you supposed to tip bike mechanics?
are you supposed to tip bike mechanics?
i try to, at least. not 16-20% like a waiter but a bit more than i would normally tip a cab (when i'm in one, which is seldom. *cough*)
& as for the website : this guy ryan (aka tankk) has been working on it, tho the back-end programming required for a fully functional online store is still in the works, or so he tells me.
I don't think it's neccessary, but with anything..if you think the person who helped you went above and beyond their normal job or if you're particularly happy with the end product then I think you can tip if you're feeling generous. I've given mechanics a few extra dollars here and there for being awesome.

Who are you?! George Costanza? Worried about tipping?!
...are you supposed to tip bike mechanics?
Are you kidding? If they do a great job, reward them by going back. If they do a sh*t job, go someplace else. My road bike mechanic at Conrads Bike Shop would laugh at me if I tried to tip him :roflmao: .

But, I've been to bike shops uptown, downtown, midtown (and I won't name names) and the best service I have received has been from Yee at conrads.
I'm hoping trackstar does right by me, since they are so close to home.
